Conference Call
A phone call that connects three or more participants simultaneously into a single conversation.
A conference call (also called a three-way call or multi-party call) connects multiple participants into a single voice session. A bridge server mixes each participant's audio and distributes the combined stream to all parties in real time. Conference calls can be impromptu (a user adds a second party to an existing call) or scheduled in advance using a dedicated conference bridge number and PIN.
For business use, conference bridges support dozens or hundreds of simultaneous participants, with host controls including mute-all, entry/exit chimes, recording, and dial-out capabilities to add participants who haven't called in yet. Meeting moderators can lock the room after all expected participants have joined to prevent unauthorized access.
Zonitel includes on-demand conference calling on all business phone plans. Users can bridge a third party into any active call with a single button press. Scheduled conference rooms with persistent PINs are also available, letting teams use the same dial-in number for recurring weekly calls without re-scheduling each time.
