Ring Group
A feature that rings multiple extensions simultaneously or in sequence so the first available agent answers the call.
A ring group (also called a hunt group) is a set of extensions configured to ring together when a specific number or extension is dialed. The goal is to ensure someone answers quickly without requiring callers to try multiple numbers. If no one in the group answers within the configured timeout, the call can overflow to voicemail, another group, or an external number.
Ring groups support different ring strategies: simultaneous (all phones ring at once — fastest answer time), round-robin (distribute calls evenly among agents), sequential (ring extensions one after another in a fixed order), or least-occupied (route to the agent who has been idle longest). Each strategy serves different team structures and call patterns.
Zonitel ring groups are configured entirely through the web portal. You can add or remove members instantly, set overflow destinations, and view per-group call statistics in the analytics dashboard. Ring groups can include remote employees, mobile devices, and softphones alongside traditional desk phones.
