Toll-Free Number
A phone number (800, 888, 877, 866, etc.) that is free for callers to dial — the business pays the per-minute cost.
A toll-free number is a telephone number assigned a three-digit prefix (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833 in North America) that allows callers to reach the business at no charge to themselves — the receiving business bears the call cost. Toll-free numbers increase call volume from cost-sensitive customers and convey a professional, national presence.
Toll-free numbers are managed through the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) and can be ported between carriers just like local numbers. Vanity toll-free numbers (such as 1-800-FLOWERS) are a powerful marketing tool, converting an abstract string of digits into a memorable brand phrase.
Zonitel offers toll-free numbers in all current 8XX prefixes. They can be routed to any extension, ring group, or IVR in your account. Inbound toll-free calling is included in standard call plans, and outbound calls from toll-free lines can also be enabled. Toll-free numbers also work for SMS in markets where 10DLC or short-code alternatives aren't preferred.
